EMBOSSED GOLD LEAFING :

This instruction uses the Gold Embossing Paste and Gold Leaf, but any combination of metallic paste and gold leaf may be used.

Supplies: Dreamweaver Gold Embossing Paste, glue pad, finger dauber, gold leaf.

1) Tape out all edges of the stencil and paste emboss using Dreamweaver's Gold Embossing Paste. Clean stencil and let design dry thoroughly.

2) Reposition the stencil over design area and tape again, using removable tape as before. Stencil all of the design with finger dauber and the glue from a glue pad. Remove stencil and clean.

3) Dry the glue by using a heat gun, for approximately thirty seconds. Be sure to keep the heat gun moving so it will not bubble the paste. After letting it cool for a few seconds, test the area with your finger. It should attach to your finger, or feel dry. This step is the most crucial for success. You don't want it to be slick or gummy feeling. If this occurs, you need to dry it more.

4) Place the card on an open file folder. Lay the "gold leaf" gently on top of design and tap with your finger or a stencil brush so it adheres to the glued area.

5 ) Burnish leafing with a 3/4" stencil brush and don't be afraid to brush hard, as this process will remove all the jagged edges of excess gold leafing around the embossed edges. Tap the excess pieces from the file folder into a container, as these can be used again.

To use with stencils.

Dry emboss image from the back of your paper/cardstock.
Turn project over so stencil is uppermost and colour with pigment ink.
Slip a sheet of paper between stencil and card and clean the stencil. Use Versamark or other clear ink to cover image. (Skip this step if ink remains wet enough to hold the powder.)
